AI for law firms, without the risks.

AI can take hours out of drafting, document review and admin. It can also put client confidentiality at risk, or put an invented case in front of a court. We help your firm get the first without the second.

Where AI saves time.

The work that fills a fee earner’s week, and what AI can help with, with a solicitor responsible for anything that leaves the firm.

First drafts
Letters, attendance notes and standard documents drafted from your own precedents, ready for a fee earner to review.
Document review
Long documents, bundles and disclosure summarised, with the key passages found and referenced.
Research, checked
A faster starting point for research, with every authority checked against a trusted source before anyone relies on it.
Enquiries and intake
New enquiries answered and triaged, and the information you need to open a file gathered up front.
Time and billing
Time entries and billing narratives drafted from the work already on the file.
Practice admin
Internal policies, training material and marketing written faster.

What to get right first.

Confidentiality and privilege

Client information must stay confidential. We check which tools would see it, where it goes, and whether it could be used to train someone else’s model.

Accuracy

AI can invent cases and citations that look real, and courts have criticised lawyers who relied on them. Everything AI produces needs checking by someone qualified to check it.

Supervision

Your duties don’t change because a tool did the first draft. You need clear policies on who may use AI, for what, and how the work is supervised.

Questions law firms ask us.

  • Is it safe for solicitors to use ChatGPT with client information?

Not the free personal version, as a rule. Business versions of the main AI tools can be set so client data isn’t used to train their models, with access controls and audit logs, and some can keep data in the UK or EU. An AI health check shows which tools your people use today and whether they’re set up safely.

  • Does the SRA allow solicitors to use AI?

The SRA hasn’t banned AI. The usual standards still apply: confidentiality, competence and proper supervision, with a solicitor responsible for the work. We help you set policies that show how your firm meets them.

  • Can AI do our legal research?

It can give you a faster starting point, but every case and citation must be checked against a trusted source. AI tools can produce convincing authorities that don’t exist.

  • Will it work with our practice management system?

Often, yes. Many practice management and document systems now have AI features of their own, or can be connected to other tools. We check what yours can do before recommending anything new.

  • Do we need an IT department?

No. We work with whoever runs the processes today, and recommend tools your team can look after themselves.
